Partners for Indigenous Knowledge Philippines, Inc. (PIKP) is starting a project on July 1, 2022 on TRANSFORMATIVE PATHWAYS: Indigenous peoples and local communities leading and scaling up conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity. The project is a joint initiative among indigenous organisations in different countries with the collective aim of improved conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity by recognising, supporting and expanding contributions by indigenous peoples.
In the Philippines, project activities will focus on community-based learning and intergenerational transmission of knowledge across five key workstreams: food systems and traditional livelihoods; health and well-being; youth leadership; indigenous voices in arts and literature; and national and international engagement and policy advocacy.
PIKP is opening this Call for Applications for the following positions:
Position | Job description |
Advocacy Officer (50% time) | The Advocacy Officer will relate with political partners, formulate position and advocacy papers, lead in national and international engagement activities, assist stream focal persons in policy advocacy. |
Communication Education and Public Awareness (CEPA) Officer (80% time) | The CEPA Officer will lead in developing the communications strategy of the project, prepare communication materials around PIKP’s work, project objectives, activities, calls and achievements for the wider public, coordinate information activities, and provide guidance on maintaining the website. |
Work stream focal person – Youth (full time) | The Work stream focal person on Youth will coordinate and ensure implementation of youth stream activities, networking with indigenous youth collaborators, LGUs/govt agencies, educational institutions, communities; contribute to national engagement and CEPA work. |
Work stream focal person – Health (80% time) | The Work stream focal person on Health will coordinate and ensure implementation of health stream activities, networking with collaborators, LGUs/govt agencies, educational institutions, communities; contribute to national engagement and CEPA work. |
