By Anna Karla Himmiwat

Alejo M. Pacalso Memorial National High School (AMPMNHS) is presently serving as evacuation center for the victims of the deadly landslide in Barangay Ucab, Itogon, triggered by supper typhoon Ompong (international name Mangkhut). The landslide buried an old bunkhouse of the Benguet Corporation where 40 – 50 people were staying, a chapel where evacuees took refuge at the height of the typhoon, and several houses. Rescue operations and retrieval of bodies are still ongoing, with 34 dead and 42 still missing.

Here are some photos of activities taking place in AMPMNHS, as it tranforms from school into an evacuation center, where the victims and volunteers are received.
